As some of you know, shortly after Labor Day, Barry started experiencing abdominal pain and distress. Earlier this week, after some definitive tests, we were told that his second cancer, T-Cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia (T-PLL), a very rare and very aggressive cancer, is back. So after 7 years, 2 transplants and 2 years, here we are again.
We are at Stanford Hospital now and he is about to receive his first dose of Nelarabine, which we hope will attack this nasty disease. We have great faith in the Barry’s team here.
For those of you in the Bay Area, below (or attached) is a photo taken last Sunday at Bird & Beckett, our local bookstore, where Barry and other sixties radicals read in a Litquake event organized by Barry. It was very successful. Unfortunately he will be unable to read at the Litcrawl tomorrow night as scheduled. Hopefully next year.
